Job Summary

This position is primarily responsible for supervising and coordinating activities of outside sales personnel, selling transportation services to businesses for consistent revenue generation, and assisting with sales activities of the organization.

 

Duties and responsibilities: 

Core duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Direct and supervise employees engaged in outside sales.
  • Manage outside sales reps who work remote.
  • Monitor sales performance with weekly metrics.
  • Assist with sales presentations to key clients in coordination with sales representatives.
  • Interview, train and evaluate sales personnel.
  • Confer with company officials to develop methods to increase sales.
  • Provide staff with assistance in performing difficult or complicated duties.
  • Attend company meetings to exchange product information and communicate with other departments.
  • Communicate effectively with other departments.
  • Prepare weekly sales reports for management.
  • Prepares sales forecasting activities to set performance goals accordingly.
  • Assists in developing new training courses associated with products and services.
  • Make outbound sales calls daily to potential and existing customers by telephone and email to qualify leads and sell transportation services with outside reps.
  • Handle inbound sales lead calls to convert calls into sales.
  • Emphasize salable features, quote prices and credit terms, set up accounts and prepare shipments for sales obtained.
  • Overcome technical and business objections of prospective customers.
  • Provide product demos to qualified customers.
  • Coordinate customer training.

  • Build and maintain customer relationships.
  • Enter new customer data and other sales data for prospective and current customers into Salesforce.com.
  • Work with outside sales reps to penetrate accounts and keep account activities up to date.
  • Helps develop established script to use when calling prospects.
  • Weekly ride days with reps.
  • Provide ongoing role practice and training with reps.
  • Door Knocking & Cold Calling with Reps to drive performance.

 

Qualifications: 

  • Prior Transportation Experience – 3 years minimum
    • Sales Experience
    • Driven, Competitive, Organized and a team player
