Job Summary

The Billing Specialist is responsible for fulfilling unique billing requirements for large truckload customers primarily. This role is Monday through Friday 8 am to 5 pm or 7 am to 4 pm.


Compensation for this position starts at $16.25 an hour. 



Duties and responsibilities: 

  • Prepares invoices with additional documentation such as PODs and lumper receipts
  • Works with multiple proprietary systems utilized by customers to expedite billing and payment
  • Establishes relationships and collaborates with sales representatives to design effective solutions to meet customer needs
  • Provides support, feedback, guidance, and development to Credit team and all Sales team
  • Determines if customers are within their credit limits and their accounts are up to date
  • Processes credit applications utilizing an online credit platform
  • Onboards new customers to for approval of credit limits over $20k
  • Creates SOPs to streamline processes within the department
  • Assists in the completion, accuracy, and distribution of invoices for Enterprise accounts requiring custom invoicing (some accounts operate out of their own TMS/ or require POD's/Multi-stop/Lumpers)


  • High school diploma required
  • Logistics/Freight experience or 2-4 years of billing experience preferred
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe and ability to learn Blue Grace systems.

  • Must have excellent communication skills, written and verbal. Must have the ability to read, analyze, and interpret documents, technical procedures, or company memos
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, and percentages.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, verbal, diagram, or schedule form.
