This role is responsible for the entry level development of sales and operational skills within the Refrigerated Carrier Sales group. Team Leads are taking the steps to potentially become Managers and are responsible for getting Carrier Sales Reps trained and developing the skills to help manage a region.
Duties and responsibilities:
- Oversee developmental skills of new Carrier Sales Reps
- Monitor call volume and carrier development numbers
- Teach proper carrier qualification and sales techniques
- Perform applicable HR and administrative duties
- Conduct monthly reviews
- Monitor and communicate market and capacity trends
- Proactively shift carrier development needs when applicable
- Provide instruction on how to properly develop:
- High volume lanes
- Customer opportunities
- Problem lanes
- Niche markets
- Targeted carriers
- New carrier set-ups
- Facilitate team meetings where appropriate
Qualifications:
- 2+ years exposure to the carrier sales function
- Extensive carrier portfolio development and management
- Display a fundamental approach to load board management
